The sixth place of Kuba Przygoński and the twenty-second place by Martin Prokop - these are the results of the 8th stage of the Dakar Rally, where on Monday, after the tragic death of Paulo Gonçalves, only car drivers competed. As on Sunday, the route allowed competitors to develop maximum speeds.
The route of the Monday stage led around the village of Wadi Al Dawasir. The length of the special stage was 477 kilometers, to which you had to add 239 kilometers of "drive-in". Another good performance was recorded by Kuba Przygoński, who crossed the finish line in 6th position, having the opportunity to take full advantage of his car's ability to drive across different terrain.
– - It was again a very fast section, in one place for 30 kilometers we could keep full gas without letting go. We were partly driving on flat terrain, on a dry lake, it was not a difficult part of the section, but later there were some stones and driving in the canyons. In one place, difficult dunes began, we had problems with visibility through the sun, which was raining vertically, there was no shade, and because of that we rode harder – said Kuba Przygoński at the finish line.
