ORLEN OIL - new graphic design after the merger

22-12-2023

ORLEN OIL is presenting a new graphic design for its products and a global concept for brand development. From January 2024, all products on offer will be available under one umbrella brand ORLEN OIL, and product labels will be given a timeless and clear design.  ORLEN OIL is thus responding to the needs of its customers, aiming to provide optimal business solutions.

The past 2023 was a landmark year for the Polish leader in production of lubricants: the finalisation of the capital merger of the two largest domestic lubricants companies allowed the company to strengthen its market position in lubricants in Europe. Integration with LOTOS OIL enabled dynamic international expansion and significantly increased the production capacity of lubricants from 200,000 tonnes to approximately 420,000 tonnes per year.

Following the development of its internal infrastructure, ORLEN OIL is implementing a new business concept for its product portfolio: from January 2024, oils and greases of the Polish brand, so far available as PLATINUM ORLEN OIL and LOTOS OIL, will appear on the domestic market and all foreign markets under one umbrella brand ORLEN OIL, and the visual confirmation of the brand change will be accompanied by a modern label design characterised by graphic clarity of the communicated content.
- The change resulting from the rebranding and the design of the product packaging labels is an example of the evolution the company has undergone since the completion of the oil companies' merger. The brand architecture model, based on a main brand for all products in the portfolio and a limited number of sub-brands, is widely used by all leading lubricants producers in the world. A unified and completed product portfolio of ORLEN OIL will provide clarity and transparency of the offer to our stakeholders. The use of the ORLEN brand as an umbrella in the structure is justified. It is one of the best-known brands in Europe," said Przemysław Palonka, President of ORLEN OIL.

The modern labels of ORLEN OIL products have a refreshed design, which reflects the company's activities but, above all, introduces greater readability. This consists of appropriately placed information, thanks to which customers can easily identify the product and select it according to the needs. On the front of the label, there will be information on the viscosity grade and the quality class. This will make it easier to select engine oil for a particular vehicle. The use of pictograms will make it much easier to distinguish the intended use of the products, and the variety of colours will improve not only the appearance of the packaging, but above all its legibility. Assigning specific colours to product categories will make it easier for customers to identify them.  For example, the colour black was used for engine oils used in modern passenger cars that have engines with advanced technologies such as turbocharging, direct fuel injection, emission reduction systems and diesel engines. The red colour is for oils designed for older cars with engine designs that do not require specialised synthetic oils, and the purple colour is for lubricants designed for motorbikes, as well as other motorbike vehicles such as scooters and quads.

ORLEN OIL is a Polish company operating as part of the ORLEN Group, producing and distributing lubricants to more than 70 countries worldwide. With production facilities in Gdansk, Trzebinia, Jedlicze and Czechowice Dziedzice, the company has for many years been a leader in the domestic production of lubricants for the automotive, industrial and agricultural sectors, thus responding to the dynamically changing needs of the market.
