Base oils produced by PKN ORLEN are high quality mineral oils belonging to Group I according to API (American Petroleum Institute) classification.
The oils are obtained from a vacuum fraction derived from straight-run processing of crude oil. In order to obtain a base oil with the desired specification, the vacuum fractions are subjected to appropriate processes in the oil block technological process, which include:

• selective solvent refining (improvement of viscosity and temperature characteristics);
• solvent dewaxing (improvement of low temperature properties);
• hydrotreatment (improvement of color and resistance to oxidation and aging).
