That is why ORLEN OIL became a sponsor of the movie "Łukasiewicz nafciarz romantyk" („Łukasiewicz oiler romantic”) which had its premiere on April 12th at the Jasło Culture Center. The film's sponsors are companies and institutions related to the oil, gas and petrochemical industries, hence the involvement of the Capital Group of ORLEN.
The fictionalized documentary devoted to the creator of the Polish oil industry, Ignacy Łukasiewicz, aims to show and prove that the cradle of the global oil industry is located in Poland (Bórbka in the Podkarpacie region), where the first oil mine was established. Łukasiewicz is a timeless character, an insurgent, creator of the petroleum industry in poor Galicia. The Pole is an example of perseverance and diligence, as well as honesty and social responsibility. Movie was produced by Bogdan Miszczak (owner of the regional TV) and directed by journalist Maciej Wójcik.
The screenplay was made on the basis of an interview with the Cracow journalist Feliks Jan Szczęsny-Morawski who conducted it with Łukasiewicz. Undoubtedly, a perfect opportunity to make the film is the upcoming 200th anniversary of Łukasiewicz’s birth and the 165th anniversary of the invention of the oil lamp.
